Le premier ouvrage est une anthologie constituée de quatre pièces déjà publiées et attribuées pour trois d’entre elles à François Bonnet et la pastorale inédite et anonyme ne fait que reprendre des situations, des procédés et des personnages omniprésents dans les textes du corpus. L’exténuation d’une tradition qui semble avoir été pourtant bien vivante semble pouvoir s’expliquer par un faisceau d’éléments, parmi lesquels la mainmise du prince de Conti sur la province, le déplacement des États du Languedoc puis la mort de Jean Martel. The year 1657 saw the publication in Béziers, by the printer and bookseller Jean Martel, of both the last collective collection of plays performed on Ascension Day, on the occasion of the Caritats, and Las Amours de Damon et Lucresso, Pastouralo. The former is an anthology of four previously published plays, three of which are attributed to François Bonnet, while the latter, unpublished and anonymous, simply repeats situations, devices and characters that are omnipresent in the texts of the corpus.
