À partir de trois grands thèmes : celui des lamentations d’un peuple soumis à l’occupation, de la révolte contre le colonisateur anglais, puis du thème moins traditionnel, mais alors émergeant, de la libération de la femme, le traducteur propose une composition dont la structure ternaire est typique de la littérature bardique. Three poems chosen from the work of the generation of Irish poets active immediately preceding Irish independence were translated into Occitan by Alan Ward and published in the journal Oc in January of 1960.
